A homeowner on Penasquitos Ct chose KAN Builders for a paver installation in San Diego, CA to improve a sloped yard. Our team created a curved walkway and round patio with warm-toned pavers, improving footing, flow, and outdoor use while blending naturally with the existing garden and stonework.

A homeowner on Penasquitos Ct asked KAN Builders for a paver installation in San Diego, CA, that would make a sloped yard safer and easier to enjoy. The family wanted a curved path, a round patio, and warm colors that fit the stone walls and garden. The old route felt uneven underfoot, and there was no clear place to sit. The family wanted more use from the yard without losing its natural look. So we built the plan around safe steps, good flow, and a hardscape that felt at home on the site.

Take a look at how a curved paver walkway improved footing and connected the existing steps, garden beds, and patio area.

A Curved Path Made the Slope Easier to Use

The yard already had stone walls, gravel, steps, and planted beds. A straight path would have cut across those features, so we used a soft curve instead.

The new walkway follows the grade and leads into a round patio. This gives the family a clear route through the yard and a set place for chairs or a small table. The shape also keeps the garden open and easy to view.

A Firm Base Came Before the Finish

Our crew cleared the work zone and shaped the soil. We then graded the path and patio so the base could stay even through the slope. Next, we spread aggregate base and packed it with a plate compactor.

String lines helped guide the curves and border. This step kept the shape clean and helped each paver sit on firm support.

Warm Pavers Gave the Yard a Natural Fit

KAN Builders set mixed-size concrete pavers in tan, brown, and soft gray tones. A darker border course framed the path and patio. That edge gave each curve a clean finish.

Some areas needed custom cuts, so we fit pieces where the path turned and where it met steps, gravel, and other yard features. This meticulous process is why homeowners choose a skilled paver contractor in San Diego.

The New Hardscape Kept the Yard’s Character

We left the stone walls, gravel beds, plants, and level changes in place. The new work added order without covering more of the yard than needed.

The finished project includes:

  • A curved paver walkway
  • A round patio area
  • Mixed-size earth-tone pavers
  • Dark border courses
  • Custom cuts at turns
  • Clean links to steps and beds

This patio construction in San Diego gave the family a stable place to gather while keeping the slope and garden as part of the design.

Results the Family Could Enjoy

The finished path and patio give the family safer footing, easier movement, and a clear place to relax outside. The new hardscape also raised curb appeal, supported home value, and left the client pleased with how well the work fits the yard.
